The condition for reimbursing the deposit is that the Austrian deposit logo and the barcode (EAN code) are clearly legible. The container must be empty, not crushed and the entire label must be present and legible on the container. This is the only way to identify whether the container is a bottle or can that is part of the Austrian deposit-refund cycle.

If the container cannot be linked to the Austrian deposit system or if it is still a container without the deposit logo, it will be rejected and a deposit cannot be paid out. Please dispose of this container correctly.

If the container is crushed and the reverse vending machine therefore rejects the container, but the Austrian deposit logo and the barcode are still clearly legible, please contact the staff at the store. In this case, it is also possible to accept the container manually. However, it must be possible to identify the product clearly as an Austrian deposit product.
